Charles Ernest's Story.
Born Nantwich, enlisted Crewe. Son of Charles and Emily Bickerton. His wife resided at 6, Nixon’s Row, Nantwich. Joined up on September 18, 1915 and prior to enlisting was a condenser at the Trufood Factory, Wrenbury. Went to France on the SS Invicta on March 30, 1916. Wounded on July 7 and died of gunshot wounds to the body five days later.
