Edward Thomas's Story.
Born Croome, Worcester, enlisted Chester. Resided with his
adopted daughter at 60, Waterloo Road, Haslington. Previously
a striker in the Boiler Shop, Crewe Works. Went to France
on December 18, 1914. Killed by a rifle bullet to the head,
whilst sitting in a trench. First known Haslington man to
lose his life in the war.
