Ernest Edwin's Story.
Born Crewe, enlisted Huddersfield. Son of Frederick and Louise Grace of 50, Newdigate Street, Crewe and husband of May Grace of 96, Bradford Road (North), Fartown, Huddersfield. Attended Beech Street School, Crewe. Was a Crewe Royal Engineers band member and formerly employed in the Crewe Steam Sheds as an engine driver. Connected with the Crewe Salvation Army. Just before the outbreak of war, was working as a crane driver at an iron foundry in Tunbridge. Went to France (Boulogne) on April 13, 1915. Killed by shrapnel.
