Ex. P.C WHO DIED FOR A COMRADE.

Bombardier W. H. Strefford, of the County Palatine Royal Field Artillery, was killed in action in France on June 6th whilst trying to save a wounded comrade. He was formerly a member of Birkenhead Police Force, and was popularly known as “Darkie.” His uncle, who sends us the information, has four sons in the Army, two on active service in Egypt and France, and one wounded lying at the Adelaide Hospital, Dublin.
