SUVLA BAY VETERAN.

Killed in Action.

Signaller Peter MCCabe, of the Cheshire Regt., who was well-known in the town, is now reported as having been killed in action on the 9th ult. His brother, Mr. S. McCabe, of 192, Cleveland Street, has received the official intimation to that effect. He joined the Army upon the outbreak of war, and took part in the Suvla Bay landing, and was through the Dardanelles campaign. He won his first-class certificate for signalling. Prior to joining the Army he was employed as a clerk in the office of Messrs. Mackie and Gladstone, Hamilton Street, Birkenhead.

He was an old boy of Our Lady’s School. There is another brother at present in France.
