Prenton Major Killed.

Ardent Worker Among Lads.

It is with regret that the friends of Mrs. Cooban, of 114, Woodchurch Lane, Prenton, learn of the death in action of her son, Major Adrian D. Cooban, of the King’s Royal Rifles. He was killed on July 16th in his 34th year. Major Cooban was educated at Merchant Taylors School, Great Crosby, and was connected with the London and Lancashire Fire Insurance Company. At the declaration of war he joined the 5th Battalion King’s (Liverpool Regiment), and shortly afterwards he was given a captaincy in the King’s Royal Rifles. On his battalion being drafted to the front he was promoted to Major. He was keenly interested in the Church Lads’ Brigade Cadets, and was a leading officer of the movement in the Liverpool diocese for many years.
